I graduated from Case High School in 2003, from there I went on to UW-Milwaukee to pursue an Art Education Degree. I spent a year at UWM and then transferred to UW-Parkside. In 2008 I Graduated from UW-Parkside with a Bachelors of Art and a teaching certificate. I was immediately hired by Racine Unified and spent my first year traveling between three schools (Starbuck, McKinley, and Case). After that year I received full time placement at Case high school. I currently teach all levels of ceramic courses at Case high. While I enjoy all forms of art and wish to live my life emerge in the arts I have a fondness for the ceramic arts that can not be matched by any other medium. In the beginning of my adult art career I enjoyed the concept of creating contradictions. Whether it be from the subject or from the use of different medias. This is still a topic I find very interesting, however, my own personal work has declined as I have been focusing on being a new educator. Now that I am beginning to feel more comfortable in my teaching profession I hope to begin producing more of my own work and showing in local galleries. I plan to focus on ceramic, sculpture, and photography. I think it is important as an art educator to never forget you are an artist as well, even though that can be difficult at times.
** I have also enjoyed participating in Racines public art
